Today was a very local wedding to me - Edwins in
Fareham for the wedding of Jane and Gary. I arrived early and confirmed details
with the restaurant manager and then quickly went up and photographed the room,
which was classically and simply decorated. Once I had those in the bag, I
checked out the ceremony room and met the Superintendent Register who was
conducting the ceremony that day to check on what I could do throughout. Another
exceptionally friendly conversation which saw me allowed to cover the ceremony
fully with the obvious exception of the signing
itself.
Back downstairs again for the
groom and bestman, and then the bridemaids and finally Jane - who looked
stunning.
Throughout the ceremony I
was looking for emotion, details, the key moments and of course the standard
shots of the first kiss and signing. Jane had organised a soloist who was
excellent and made a real change. Everything went smoothly and then we went
outside where I spent 10-15 minutes capturing the informal celebrations, family
and friends groupings and shooting reportage discreetly - in the main unknown to
the bridal party and guests. However, with some specific groups to shoot I did
grab Jane and Gary and work through the formal groups and also a shot of
everyone from the porch roof !
Having
already shot the room I managed to get 10 minutes with Jane and Gary to get some
different editorial style shots and completed todays wedding with a shot of them
cutting the cake.
As usual below are
some images from the day.
