Katherine and Stephen - Sacred Heart Church, Fareham and Alverbank House
Hotel
Katherine and Stephen were blessed with a crisp,
sunny November day and had a wonderful time at a stunning wedding and lovely
location for the reception. Having photographed Katherine and Stephen during an
e-Session (engagement session) I knew that getting great shots of them during
the wedding would be a blast.

Having
photographed Katherine and Stephen during an e-Session (engagement session) I
knew that getting great shots of them during the wedding would be a blast.
Working with Matt as my second shooter on this wedding I went straight to the
church this time, whilst Matt went and spent some time with Katherine at her
mothers house. I spoke to Father Joe the officiating priest and made sure that
we were OK on photographs - he kindly suggested some key moments during the
Nuptial Mass that he was happy for me to be more obtrusive than normal to ensure
that some key moments were captured. The entire ceremony went smoothly and we
left the church after just over an hour and made our way to Alverstoke where we
briefly paused at the beach for some quick shots (it was windy and cold despite
being a great day) and then onto the Alverbank House
Hotel.
Once there we worked our way
through some lovely shots of Katherine and Stephen and then a wonderful bridal
session with Katherine looking stunning. it was then into the groups as both
Katherine and Stephen prefer more traditional wedding photography. As time moved
on I went into the room and covered the table decorations and cake whilst Matt
finished off the groups and checked with the wedding coordinator, Alice, about
how long we could keep going. Fortunately we had some flexibility and we rounded
off with a cake shot prior to allowing the line-up to begin.
I stayed and photographed the speeches
which in this case were at the start of the wedding breakfast and having done so
slipped away allowing the happy couple to enjoy their meal and
evening.
Katherine arrived at the
Sacred Heart Church with her father in a lovely Bentley and was piped in by
Paddy, a piper who played throughout the
day.
The reception was held at the
Alverbank Country House Hotel and we took some time to go down to the beach, as
well as making full use of the gardens. Finally I stayed for the
speeches....
