Helen & Justin - 3rd March - St Ann's and Royal Naval Club,
Southsea
Yesterday was the wedding of Helen & Justin
down in the naval dockyard, Portsmouth in the lovely church at St Ann's.
I had been looking forward to this
wedding for some time, and fortunately my luck held out as the poor weather
skipped Saturday and the morning and ceremony was blessed with lovely spring
weather. Whilst I had not seen Helen or Justin since their e-Session on the 20th
January I knew through email contact that they had been busy putting finishing
touches to the wedding, and it certainly showed as everything went to plan with
the guys in their naval uniform and the bridemaids in a "meonshore" blue. The
flowers by Christine Walker were stunning with heart motif's and the blue theme
on the bouquets.

church was undecorated but still stunning and I got photographs of the guys, and
the bridesmaids before everyone went into the church. Shortly afterwards Helen
arrived and we got a photograph of them going into the church before I got ahead
and caught Helen and her father entering the church. I then moved to the balcony
which was my designated shooting position and enjoyed the ceremony. Afterwards
the guard of honour performed brilliantly and the guests enjoyed some time with
the bride and groom before we moved to the Garrison Church for the formal
photographs.At this point it started
to rain - but the church provided enough cover for the groups - although I got a
little wet !, and I got some time with Helen & Justin alone once the guests
had left for the reception to get some more relaxed
images.Once we arrived at the Royal
Naval Club and Royal Albert Yacht Club the guests were already enjoying drinks
and signing the memory board I had prepared for Helen and Justin and I got some
reportage shots of the gusts enjoying themselves before the wedding
breakfast. After a short break it was
time to cover the speeches and I left shortly afterwards to return home and
back up my work. Here are a few images
from the day, and a slideshow (press play to view) with some of the key
moments...
