Fareham to Birmingham for a trade show
Monday saw an early start as Mike set off from
Fareham to the NEC near Birmingham for the annual Focus trade show. Wedding
photography does continue to evolve in both style and in the products offered
and this year is no exception - having soaked up some great techniques and
inspiration from some of the best photographers in the world at the SWPP
convention in January - this trip was all about finding some cool new products
for our weddings and portraits.
A very
focussed 5 hour effort saw us find some lovely new cards - perfect for wedding
thank-you's and gifts, some nice acrylic bonded wall portraits which we will
take a closer look at - ideal for contemporary decor and something new and
different, and some very nice fine art paper which we may use in some of our
large prints - and maybe a range of fine art work we hope to launch later in the
year.
As usual there was equipment
there as well and we invested in some to increase the quality of our images, and
our ability to re-touch photographs and also to improve the quality of our child
portraits - particularly the high key (white background) work we
do.
Finally it was an excellent
opportunity to see some of our key suppliers again and touch base as well as
speak to another of the professional associations, the BIPP, about membership
later in the year.
