2007 Roundup and 2008 plans
Well with only a couple of days to go before
the end of the year I thought it was worth summing up the year and thinking out
loud for 2008.
Well with only a couple of days to go before
the end of the year I thought it was worth summing up the year and thinking out
loud for 2008.
Firstly we'd like to
thank all of our wedding portrait and commercial clients for their business in
2007 from feedback we know that you loved our work, and enjoyed working with us,
and we would like to reciprocate by saying that we enjoyed every wedding,
portrait session and assignment we have covered this
year.
2007 was for us always going
to be interesting with the birth of our daughter coming in the middle of the
year - it broke up and disrupted our wedding season, and for good reason and
with no regrets, and we are looking forward to a more usual amount and flow of
weddings in 2008 and 2009. Those couples that did engage us for their weddings
this year were fantastic and enabled us to capture some truly memorable moments
and produce some lovely images and albums. We also featured heavily in the
wedding magazines with two covers, four featured weddings, and another in the
pipeline for very early 2008 - and of course collected a Fujifilm Envisage Award
of Excellence for one of our wedding
images.
We photographed a great
deal more portraits this year and I'm very proud and happy to know that many of
the local families have our images shown as art on their walls, and that many
people looking for a Stubbington, Hill Head, Lee-on-the-Solent and Tichfield
portrait photographer come to us. We also had some regular clients engage us
again this year for corporate work and events, and I'm looking forward to 2008
to continue our working relationships and add some more corporate clients to our
portfolio of work.
In 2007 we
invested heavily in our relationship with our new album supplier, and it has
paid off. We now have a fantastic selection of sample albums, great experience
in working with their team in Australia and representatives in the UK, and look
forward to using more of their high quality and innovative products and
exceptional services in 2008. In the latter stages of 2007 we have also been
focussing on a couple of other strategic suppliers who will make our offerings
in 2008 of even higher quality and cachet and I hope to see the benefit of these
materialise, particularly as we begin to shoot weddings again in the early part
of the year. 2008 also sees us continue to invest in equipment, software and
jointly with some of the other wedding vendors that we work regularly
with.
We also hope to have some
exciting news in the middle of 2008 which will mean a dramatic transformation of
our studio - under wraps at the moment but good news for us, and for our
clients.
For those of you we didn't
manage to wish a Merry Christmas, we hope you had a wonderful and relaxing time
and we wish everyone a Happy New Year and all the best for 2008 !
